Water Quality & Fish Health
Maintaining good water quality is the most important aspect of fishkeeping. Fish are completely dependent on their surrounding water, so it is our responsibility to make sure that their water is in perfect condition. Poor water quality is almost always a precursor to disease.
King British Water Treatments
King British water treatments have been scientifically developed over three decades of professional fishkeeping.

A comprehensive range of technically excellent formulations are available for managing both water quality and fish health.

Packaging
In the UK King British water treatments are marketed in a range of pack formats & sizes. In addition to all King British water treatments being available to buy in bulk we would be very happy to work with you to develop packaging & marketing support materials for your specific requirements.
Treatments for Managing Water Quality
Safe Water

• King British Safe Water removes harmful ammonia & nitrite

• Fish release ammonia through the gills & by going to the toilet in the water in which they live. Uneaten food & plant debris also decomposes, releasing ammonia, which is toxic to fish. Ammonia may be converted to nitrite, which is also toxic and may kill fish if left untreated

• King British Safe Water oxidises ammonia & nitrite into nitrate - a relatively harmless substance that can be absorbed by plants as foods & is easily removed by regular partial water changes

• For use in Tropical, Coldwater & Marine aquariums and ponds

Safe Guard
• King British Safe Guard makes tap water safe for fish. Safe Guard quickly and effectively neutralises chlorine, chloramines and heavy metals in tap water, preventing distress and gill irritation in fish

• Chlorine and chloramines are powerful chemicals added to drinking water to kill bacteria to make tap water safe for human consumption. Left untreated, these chemicals can strip the protective mucus coating off fish making them susceptible to bacterial and fungal infections

• King British Safe Guard removes the excess ammonia created from the reaction with chloramine

• King British Safe Guard also coats the fish with a natural protective barrier of aloe vera. Fish can lose their protective slime through handling, fighting, shipping and other forms of stress

• For use in Tropical & Coldwater aquariums and ponds

Green Algae Control
• King British Green Algae Control clears most forms of green algae including filaments (fine strands) and slime

• An aquarium or pond can be spoiled by the presence of green algae which survive through excess light conditions & surplus nutrients in the water

• If left untreated green water may develop caused by a bloom of free floating algae cells

• Green algae also restricts the growth of oxygenating plants

• For use in Tropical & Coldwater aquariums and ponds

Green Water Control
• King British Green Water Control clears green water

• Green Water is the result of a bloom of free floating algae cells which survive & multiply through excess light conditions & surplus nutrients

• King British Green Water Control binds the suspended algae cells together, sinking them to the bottom of the tank or pond. It is important to remove the dead algae as soon as possible to prevent oxygen depletion, which could stimulate renewed algae growth

• For use in Tropical & Coldwater aquariums and ponds

Plant Food
• King British Plant Food contains essential nutrients & slow release trace elements required by aquatic plants to encourage healthy growth

• King British Plant Food also helps to create a healthy environment for fish as plants reduce troublesome algae growth by absorbing nutrients from the water

• The formulation does not include nitrate or phosphate that would otherwise encourage unwanted algae growth

• For use in Tropical & Coldwater aquariums and ponds

Snail Control

• King British Snail Control keeps tanks & bowls free from snails

• Snails are found in most aquariums but can quickly become a nuisance by eating & destroying aquarium plants & by producing waste

• Snails may also carry diseases that can be transmitted to fish & are a major problem in aquariums used for breeding fish as they eat fish eggs

• For use in Tropical & Coldwater aquariums

Turtle & Terrapin Water Freshener
• King British Turtle & Terrapin Water Freshener neutralises organic waste and keeps tanks & terrariums fresh

• King British Turtle & Terrapin Water Freshener contains four natural types of bacteria which neutralise & digest waste produced by turtles & terrapins

• If left untreated, the pollution caused by toilet waste in the water could lead to ammonia poisoning causing the turtles & terrapins stress & even death

• Rapidly eliminates the bad odours that can build up when turtles & terrapins are kept in tanks & terrariums

• For use in Turtle & Terrapin tanks only

Treatments for Managing Fish Health
Bacteria Control
• King British Bacteria Control treats fish with bacterial infections, gill rot and external ulcers

• There are bacteria in your aquarium or pond all the time, but they tend only to attack vulnerable tissues that have been damaged. Wounds & abrasions caused by bullying or handling leave fish exposed to infection

• King British Bacteria Control kills the bacteria that cause fin & gill rot & other external bacterial infections in abrasions & wounded tissues (including aeromonas & pseudomonas species)

• For use in Tropical & Coldwater aquariums and ponds

Disease Clear

• King British Disease Clear is a broad spectrum treatment that controls harmful external bacterial infections in aquariums and ponds & prevents secondary infection of damaged tissues

• King British Disease Clear stops damaged fins from becoming infected & prevents Fin Rot

• Aids quick regeneration of damaged tissues

• For use in Tropical & Coldwater aquariums and ponds

Fin Rot & Fungus Control
• King British Fin Rot & Fungus Control treats fish with fungal infections and aids rapid repair of body tissues

• King British Fin Rot & Fungus Control is a fast acting treatment for fin rot & fungal infections. It promotes the rapid healing of damaged fins, stimulates new growth & can be used to treat bruised mouths & damaged body tissues

• Fin rot & fungal infections attack vulnerable tissues & wounds that are left exposed following fighting, spawning & poor handling. Poor water quality also increases the chance of fish becoming infected with fin rot & fungal infections

• Fungal infections often attack fish following another health problem such as parasitic infection or injury

• For use in Tropical & Coldwater aquariums and ponds

Methylene Blue

• King British Methylene Blue, an anti-fungal agent with anti-septic healing properties, is effective against a variety of parasites including flukes

• Methylene Blue is one of the best known active ingredients in fish treatments, traditionally used to treat slime disease, flukes, white spot & velvet & fungus on fish eggs

• Methylene Blue can also be used as a substitute oxygen source

• Used undiluted, King British Methylene Blue can be applied as an antiseptic directly onto wounds & damaged areas using a cotton bud as a swab

• For use in Tropical & Coldwater aquariums

Revitaliser Tonic

• King British Revitaliser Tonic is a blend of liquified salts & is a fast acting solution for fish suffering from constipation or perceived swim bladder problems

• It also stimulates the internal osmosis stabilising mechanism of fish, flushing the skin & scales of excess body slime & surface discomfort

• Regular use of King British Revitaliser Tonic helps to keep fish healthy & stress free, enabling them to better keep disease organisms at bay with their own immune systems

• For use in Tropical & Coldwater aquariums

Velvet Control

• King British Velvet Control quickly and effectively treats fish with velvet parasites

• Fish often carry a small population of skin & gill parasites. This population rapidly increases when fish become stressed & can be fatal if left untreated

• The velvet parasite can be seen as very fine spots on the skin & produce a gold or rust coloured velvet like layer over the affected area

• For use in Tropical & Coldwater aquariums

White Spot Control

• King British White Spot Control is an effective treatment for fish with external parasites including white spot (ich), trichodina and costia

• White spot is not visible to the naked eye in its swimming state or on the host of fish for the first 2 days. It grows rapidly & appears as small pinhead sized white spots on the body & fins. After 5-7 days the spots break up into smaller parasites & rapidly reinfect the fish

• If left untreated, fish quickly become sluggish, their fins will disintergrate & the fish may die

• For use in Tropical & Coldwater aquariums and ponds
